A LETTER TO CREATIVES

You didn’t arrive here by accident. Whether you’re a fellow creative, a ministry partner, or simply someone searching for encouragement, I want to share where God has me right now—and where I believe He’s leading next.

A Shift Is Happening

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

– Isaiah 43:19

After ten years of serving in full-time ministry, it’s clear—shift after shift after shift has taken place. Not only in the Creative Arts space but deep within my own heart and soul. God has been moving, stretching, refining, and realigning me for what’s next.

A Personal Encounter with Purpose

Over the past year, God called me out of routine and into mission—literally. Through mission trips, I’ve experienced powerful reminders that the Gospel still changes lives. In Chicago, during street evangelism on 63rd Street—an area marked by brokenness—we encountered a young man facing deep isolation and mental health struggles. As we shared the Gospel with him, Luke 4:18-19 rang loud in my spirit. We watched God meet him with freedom and hope. That moment reminded me: God’s Word still breaks chains.

Then in Ghana, I met Emmanuel—the creative director at BMBC Shai Hills. Through laughter, shared passion, and a small gift of equipment, God showed me that the creative gifts He’s entrusted to me are meant to equip and empower others to proclaim the Gospel through media and technology. As we wept together, the Spirit whispered clearly: “Use what I’ve given you to build others.”

Ministry in Motion

This personal shift has echoed in my Brown Baptist Production team. Together, we’ve experienced transformation in how we onboard volunteers, plan with intentionality, produce creative videos, and execute live worship experiences. God is not finished. This is only the beginning.

As we step into a new season, I believe God is calling all of us to three things:

1. The Courage to Commit

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’

And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” – Isaiah 6:8

Now is the time to stop hesitating and say yes to the assignment God has for you. Whether behind a camera, in the editing room, or managing logistics—your role matters in the Kingdom.

Challenge: Are you ready to step up and embrace your calling with full commitment?

2. Illuminate the Vision

“You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others.” – Matthew 5:14-16

Your creativity is more than skill—it’s a ministry. Don’t hide what God gave you. The world needs your light. The Church needs your light. Your gift might be the bridge someone needs to see Jesus clearly.

Challenge: Are you holding back your gifts, or are you boldly illuminating the path?

3. Equip Others

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…” – 1 Peter 4:10

We are called not just to create—but to multiply. To mentor. To raise up others. Every serving opportunity is a chance to pass the baton. This is how legacy is built.

Challenge: Who are you training? Who are you building up to carry the mission forward?

Whether your mission field is overseas or online, we all have a role to play in spreading the Gospel. Through the power of streaming and digital media, we are reaching people across the Midsouth, around America, and to the nations—every single day.

My Heart for 2025 and Beyond

My prayer is that you’ll catch this vision and lean in:

Have the courage to commit, illuminate your creative calling, and equip others to run with the vision.

God is shifting something in this moment. Don’t miss it.

With Love,

Steve
